Gymnocalycium cultivar

Gymnocalyciums are wonderful plants to grow and if you can give them the right conditions to flower you will not be sorry. They produce large colourful blooms that will stay open for a few weeks. If you have enough plants for them to be cross pollinated the flowers will be followed by large bulbus seed pods. a great cactus for in the home as it will tolerate more shade than many other cactus but still put it in your brightest spot, just not in a window.

This plant is native to Argentina but was grown in Cheshire from seed collected from plants already in cultivation.
